How GreenFlip works
Give GreenFlip your buying brief, budget and deadline. We turn it into an evidence-backed sourcing decision and an executable order.
Three ways to start
Develop my collection →
Bring a mood board, product list or specification. We help turn it into a costed, sampleable range.
Design-led brands, retailers and importers
Review my existing quote →
Share a quotation you are authorised to share. We find the missing assumptions and compare it like for like with alternatives.
Buyers about to commit to a supplier
Solve a sourcing problem →
A supplier failed, the minimum order doesn't fit, documents are missing, or the deadline is tight. Tell us what is blocking the order.
Anyone with an order at risk
From brief to delivery
- 1
Clarify the brief. We confirm the product, quantity, destination, arrival date, budget, acceptance criteria and who approves the order.
- 2
Test feasibility. We check whether the brief can be met as written, and say so early when the date, budget or quantity needs to change.
- 3
Obtain comparable quotations. We request dated quotations against the same specification, quantity, packaging, payment schedule and delivery term, and show what each one leaves out.
- 4
Approve samples. Samples are made to the agreed specification and the approved one becomes the reference for production.
- 5
Agree order terms. You contract with and pay the supplier directly, on terms you have reviewed.
- 6
Production and inspection. We track milestones and arrange inspection against the approved sample, tolerances and defect definitions.
- 7
Delivery and exceptions. We follow the shipment to your door and help resolve exceptions, then keep the specification ready for the repeat order.
The decision pack
For a brief we take on, the first substantial deliverable is a decision pack:
- A clarified specification
- Feasible sourcing routes
- Comparable quotations, with gaps shown rather than estimated
- Evidence status for each supplier
- A sample plan and delivery assumptions
- A recommended next action — which can be to stay with your current supplier, or to use stocked products when the date rules out new production
Quotations are compared on the same specification, quantity, packaging, payment schedule, named delivery term and evidence requirements. Where a quotation leaves something out, the pack shows the gap rather than estimating it into a firm-looking price.
What it costs
The initial assessment of your brief is free. Development and execution work is paid, at a fee and fee basis agreed in writing for each brief before work starts. You contract with and pay suppliers directly; samples, testing, inspection and freight are paid by you or included in the agreed scope. Any commission a supplier pays GreenFlip is disclosed to you and never affects which supplier we recommend.
What GreenFlip is not
- We do not take title to goods or hold stock.
- We do not finance inventory or guarantee supplier payment or performance.
- We do not sell placement: a supplier cannot pay to be recommended.
- We do not mark a supplier verified until the evidence is on file.
The full terms are in our terms of service, and the evidence standard for supplier records is in our sourcing standards.
Questions
What does GreenFlip do for a buyer?+
GreenFlip is a buyer-side sourcing desk for handcrafted and design-led goods. We work for the buyer: clarifying the specification, finding and checking suitable supply, obtaining comparable quotations, running samples, and coordinating the order through inspection and delivery.
How does GreenFlip charge?+
The initial assessment of your brief is free. Development and execution work is paid, at a fee and fee basis agreed in writing for each brief before work starts. You contract with and pay suppliers directly; samples, testing, inspection and freight are paid by you or included in the agreed scope. Any commission a supplier pays GreenFlip is disclosed to you and never affects which supplier we recommend.
Does GreenFlip sell the goods or hold stock?+
No. The buyer contracts with and pays the supplier directly. GreenFlip does not take title to goods, hold stock, finance inventory, or guarantee supplier payment or performance; what it undertakes for a paid brief is set out in a written scope agreed before work starts.
Will GreenFlip always recommend a new supplier?+
No. The recommendation follows the brief. It can be to stay with your current supplier, to change the specification or quantity, or to use stocked products when the arrival date leaves no time for new production.
Can a supplier pay to be recommended by GreenFlip?+
No. A supplier cannot pay for placement in a recommendation. If a supplier pays GreenFlip a commission in connection with an order, it is disclosed to the buyer before the order is placed.
What information does a sourcing brief need?+
Start with the product or outcome, quantity, delivery destination, required arrival date and a budget range, plus a reference image or specification if you have one. Target landed cost, customisation, packaging, acceptance criteria, required evidence and who approves the order can follow; origin and craft are optional unless provenance is part of the product.
